Only a few weeks until the opening reception! This week has been a whirlwind of productivity - putting the finishing touches on a few pieces, updating my mailing list, getting exhibition cards ready... It's going to be a great show. Be sure to check out Renee's website for more details!
The title of the exhibition, "Void / Fill", is twofold. Literally, "void/fill" is a term for packing materials - a reference to the cardboard and crumbled paper that litters my studio. However, "Void / Fill" also refers to the empty studio interiors. In this age of digital distraction, it is all too common for the trivial to drown out the important. I am still compelled by the duality of absence and presence; these new paintings play with distance (both literal and metaphorical) in different ways than my previous work.
I will be updating my website soon... some old work will disappear... and lots of new paintings will be available. Below are two new paintings - both of these will be on display in Renee's studio. Please come see them in person!
