This week I finished moving out of my grad studio. This wasn't just the place I made work for the past three years, it was also the source and inspiration for most of it. I think it's safe to say I got everything I possibly could have out of this space. I'm really going to miss that gorgeous floor.
But, on the bright side, my new studio in my apartment is completely set up and ready to go! I'm very excited about working from home again. A lot of aspects of my work are about to change, and I can't wait to see where this series goes from here. I've been playing with watercolors again; if you look closely you can see some little color studies on the wall in the photo below.
This Friday was the reception for Manifest Gallery's Master Pieces exhibition, so my family and I took a little road trip. Cincinnati is a beautiful city, and the reception was a lot of fun. I got to meet several painters who I admire, and it was inspiring to talk with so many people who still believe in painting.
